Practice At Rogers High School

The Rogers High School Rams were in the gym early on Saturday morning for practice, on the second day of the season. Things will look a little different for them, losing a core group of seniors, and two of their standouts in Jamiya Neal and Stephen Coleman to transfer. With that said, the Rams will be young, but will compete, and could surprise some people with their young roster:

2022 G Nate Houston – Houston will undoubtedly be the leader for this team, as he brings the most experience and a great deal of talent to the floor. He was vocal on Saturday morning leading his team through drills and encouraging many of the young guys on this revamped roster. Continuously developing as a lead guard, Houston is a skilled, and athletic combo guard who should contend for Player of the Year in the City League this season.

2022 G Jordan Kynard – He has waited his turn behind some talented veterans, and should really be able to impact this team this year. Can really shoot it from the outside and score in bunches. Always seems to be in the gym, and brings experience from the AAU circuit. Has good quickness, and is developing as a playmaker. On the defensive end of the floor he can cause problems for opposing guards. Has a chance to really assert himself this season.

2022 F Tavarius McBeth -Really grew last season and will be expected to contribute on both ends of the floor for this team. Has good athletic ability and will be one of the better post presences in the league. Can alter shots on defense and rebound the basketball. Runs the floor well, and is continuing to develop in his understanding of the game. Should have a strong junior season ahead of him.
