Recap of the Fort Loramie Shootout

On Friday, more than 20 area teams congregated in Fort Loramie as they once again hosted a great day of basketball. Teams traveled from as far away as Cincinnati as their was plenty of talent in the gym, with two area colleges in attendance as further evidence. Here is who stood out throughout the day:

2020 PG Michael Stammen (Versailles) – There weren’t five better talents in the gym on Friday than Stammen, as he handed out buckets, and delivered numerous dimes to teammates. Displaying a really good handle and feel, Stammen carved up defenses for most of the day. A more than capable threat from the perimeter, he can also find his way to the cup. Has a toughness about his game, doesn’t shy away from contact. True floor general, good teammate. Has interest from multiple DIII programs to date.

2021 G/F Dylan Hughes (Parkway) – Ready to go from the jump at their 8:00 a.m game, Hughes brought it and really impressed throughout the morning. Had numerous crafty finishes around the rim, knocked down outside shots, beat people down the floor, and handled the ball well for his team. His improvement over the past several months was evident, and his team was all the better for it.

2020 PG Biggz Johnson (Lima Central Catholic) – Unassuming at first look, Johnson can be a killer out on the floor. Can really handle the ball and created for others off the dribble. Special in the open court where he can be tough to slow down. Sees the floor well, and brings some flash to a game. Shot it impressively well from the outside and was efficient in picking his spots. Active communicator, showed the ability to really lock-in and defend.

2021 F Aidan Reichert (Jackson Center) – Showed signs of his youth but his talent and potential was certainly visible. Strong, with good bounce, and a quick first step, he causes matchup problems for opponents. Good looking shot from the perimeter, does most of his work from 15 feet on in. Bangs down low and competes for rebounds. Really plays hard and leaves it all on the floor. Bright future ahead.

Has a pretty good mid-range game, but is at his best when he’s slashing and getting to the bucket. Active around the rim, and rebounds well at his position. Good length where he can be an asset on the defensive end.

2020 SG Zach Woodall (National Trail) – High level athlete, that has good build, strength, and quickness. Thrives in an uptempo game. Capable scorer on all three levels. Smooth feel to his game, plays with great energy and effort. Finds his way around the basketball, and effects a game in numerous ways.
